TUMANAKO TOMO

Tumanako is a Māori Forensic Clinical Social Worker. He has worked with rangatahi and tamariki for over 15 years in different capacities for Oranga Tamariki, Manakau and Auckland District Health Boards and work privately delivering programs in education. Tumanako is am a board member on the Nga Pou Mana Maori Allied Health group. He is very passionate about working with our Maori whānau in the area of hauora.

The purpose of his masters research was to understand the importance of incorporating Māori values (tikanga, wairua, whakawhanaungatanga) when engaging in Child Adolescent Mental Health Services. Tumanako explores how these values informed and shaped his practice as a Maori indigenous Youth Forensics clinical social worker.
